What are your three (3) most important reasons for wanting to be a teacher?
I want to become a teacher so I can encourage each student to discover
his or her potential. I also want to build confidence in young people and teach them to believe in themselves. Finally, I
want to build positive relationships with students and be a role model to them.
How much do you want to know about your students in order to be
helpful to them?
I want to know the learning styles of my students so I can plan my lessons according
to their needs. I do not want to know too much about their past experiences in school in terms of behavioral issues and grades
because I do not want to form opinions on them before they enter the classroom
What three (3) things do you most want to know about your students?
I would like to know each student's learning style to help my lesson
planning process. I would also like to know if the class as a whole works well individually, in pairs, or in groups. Finally, i would like to know any specific
behavioral issues that need serious attention.
What do you need to know in order to begin your lesson planning
for a class?
I need to be familiar with the curriculum for each subject. I also need to know the time constraints
for each subject so I know how much information can be included in the lessons. Finally, I need to know about the available
technology for the students use.
What four (4) key components do you believe you must include in your plan?
My lesson plans must include clear objectives. The procedure is
a key component and should be varied for each subject and include the use of technology. Adaptations are crucial to meeting
the needs of every student. Finally, an assessment tool should be used to see if the objectives were met.
When
you think about your students, in what major ways do you most want to influence their lives?
I want to encourage good decision-making and discretion. I will
also strive to build confidence in each of my students through encouragement and personal relationships. When young people know they are capable of
many things, they will be motivated to work at developing their strengths.
